Following a Bride Diet
Some brides feel the need of attaining body fitness before their wedding day and this for most means shedding some pounds so that they can look fabulous in the wedding dress that they have chosen for the big day! If you’re a bride this means you may need to change your eating habits and exercise program to burn some calories. Basically, losing weight is all about losing more calories than you consume therefore one should have proper information on what to eat and what exercises to perform. Your bridal diet greatly depends on the time left to the wedding day and the amount of weight you wish to lose.

Eat healthy – one thing that every girl should know is that you don’t attain body fitness by starving yourself. A bride needs to eat nutritious meals which will provide the body with the required energy especially when exercising. One should eat meals with high fiber content but are low in calories and your meals should mostly consist of leafy vegetables like kale, spinach, broccoli among others. Leafy green vegetables also act as blood detoxifiers. The following are some tips on the bride diet you can follow:
- Take time to prepare your own meals
- Avoid fast foods and prepackaged foods since most of these are high in calories and have low nutritional value
- Eat whole foods since these have high energy levels for example whole grains
- Consume foods that strengthen the immune system like garlic, ginger and turmeric
Beverages – a bridal diet should only include drinks that help hydrate the body. Try to stay away from soft drinks such as sodas, sugary beverages like sweetened coffee and alcoholic drinks. The best drink to be consumed in a bride diet is pure water and the ounces that one have of water per day should be equal to half of your body weight. Other drinks suitable for bridal fitness are freshly squeezed fruit juices and smoothies.
Snacks – the best snacks for a bridal diet should have high fiber and lean protein, for example low fat cheese like cottage cheese and whole wheat crackers. These snacks should be taken around two to three times a day as they will help you feel less hungry in between your main meals and help to avoid snacking on poor food choices. Avoid prepackaged snacks like cookies, cakes and candy.
A healthy bridal diet can also consist of the following:
- Dairy products like low fat milk, cheese and yogurt..
- Fish like salmon as fish is high in protein and omega 3 which improves the condition of the skin, hair and nails.
- Lean meat for example pork cuts and beef tenderloin.
